THIS DECAL SHEET IS OUT OF PRODUCTION
“Schmaltzie” P-47D-30-RE,
serial number 44-20866 57th FG, 65th FS, 12th Air Force. Flown by Lt.
F.J. Middleton. Based in Southern Italy, Summer, 1944. Weathered, dusty
natural metal finish with faded, worn black or dark OD anti-glare panel.
Spoked wheels appear to be fitted, wing racks with 500 lb. bombs and
centerline teardrop shaped P-51 drop tank. Curtiss Electric paddle prop.
“Sleepy Jean III” P-47D-28-RA, Serial number 42-28641. 395th FS, 368th
FG, 9th Air Force. Flown by Lt. Bill Wayland Based at St. Dizier,
France. Spring of 1945. Wayland is credited with 4 victories; 2 Bf-109s
and 2 Fw-190s. Polished but dirty natural metal finish with semi gloss
red trim. Dark olive drab or faded black anti glare panel. Plain wheel
hubs with red centers. Wing and centerline racks fitted. Dirt spattered
lower rear fuselage. Curtiss paddle bladed prop. Note non standard star
and bars on fuselage.
“Eileen” P-47-D-11-RE, serial number 42-75429 84th FS, 78th FG, 8th Air
Force. Flown by 1st Lieutenant Frank Oiler. Based at Duxford, England in
early Summer, 1944. Finished in Olive Drab and Neutral Gray with cleanly
applied invasion stripes on undersides of wing and rear fuselage.
Cutback cowl flaps, centerline and wing racks fitted. Curtiss Electric
narrow blade propeller.
